The Challenge
Educational platforms need to balance two very different user experiences: the marketing side (discovering and purchasing courses) and the learning side (consuming content and tracking progress). The course catalogue needs to be engaging and easy to browse, while the learning interface needs to be distraction-free and focused. Payment processing must be seamless and secure, supporting local Saudi payment methods. The progress tracking system needed to handle various content types (video lectures, text lessons, quizzes) and provide meaningful completion metrics that motivate learners to continue.
The Solution
A Next.js-based platform with a clean separation between the storefront and the learning environment. The course catalogue features rich cards with ratings, duration estimates, and curriculum outlines that help students make informed purchasing decisions. Payment integration supports multiple methods with secure checkout. Once enrolled, students enter a focused learning interface with a sidebar curriculum navigator, video player with progress bookmarks, and lesson-by-lesson completion tracking. A student dashboard shows all enrolled courses with visual progress bars, upcoming content, and achievement milestones. The platform supports both Arabic and English with full RTL layout.
